Janet L Cronbaugh was the daughter of Cecil Clifford and Maxine Anne Stowell Cronbaugh. She received her education in the Honey Creek Township school and graduated from the Marengo High School in 1955. She was married to Richard Dean Rhinehart on November 3, 1956 at the Church of the Brethren at Brooklyn. To this union were born four children; Darla, Connie, Mark and Steven. They later divorced. She married William Franklin Korns on March 3, 1973 at her home in Brooklyn. He passed away in 2005. Janet worked for a short time at Amana Refrigeration, as office personnel. She then was employed at Poweshiek County Savings in Brooklyn until her retirement in 1999. She also served as a hostess for Nevenhoven Funeral Home for several years. Janet was an active member of her church community, serving as a Sunday School teacher, treasurer on the Board and a delegate to the district conference for the Church of the Brethren. She played the piano for services, and was a member of the Ladies Aid. She continued her church life as an active member of the Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn, where she was a member of the G.E.M.S. Janet enjoyed gardening, canning, and reading in her spare time. She liked to play the piano and sing. Her life revolved around her family and she cherished the many family gatherings and activities. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
