Janet, 44, of Oakdale formerly of Houston, Texas, entered eternal rest on Monday, June 18, 2007 in Oakdale. She was born on November 7, 1962 to the union of Homer Cleveland Strother and Janette Johnson Strother in Houston, Texas. She was a Baptist by faith, worked in Information Systems for Continental Airlines in Houston, Texas and worked for Dr. Raymond H. Kaufman, Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Leaving, Dr. Kaufman, she had to take early retirement due to disability. She was a 1981 graduate of Jersey Village High School, a loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Her mother, Janette Johnson Strother; maternal grandparents, Bouvard and Eunice Johnson; paternal grandparents, Homer and Thelma Strother and uncles, Harold Ray Strother, Roy Johnson and Truman Johnson precede her in death. She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memories, her father, Homer Cleveland Strother of Houston, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Darrell DÙuWayne Strother and Annie Louise Strother of Houston, Texas; one nephew, MacKenzie R. Strother of Houston, Texas; longtime companion, Dr. Garrett Rush Lynch of Houston, Texas; paternal aunt and uncle, Fannie E. and Charles E. Strother of Oakdale; paternal uncle and aunt, Douglas and Sara Strother of Pineville; paternal great-aunt, Georgia Strother of Oakdale; maternal aunts, Sylvia M. and Bryant Thompson of Pitkin and Christine J. Normand of Vick; maternal uncle, Charlie and Debbie Johnson of Sulphur and many cousins. Pallbearers honored to serve will be Bob Strother, David Strother, Steven Strother, Chris Wolf, Barbara Strother, Kim Strother, DeNell Strother Wolf and Gregory A. Strother. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Strother, Troy Strother, D.J. Strother, Randal Johnson, Shannon Johnson and Kim Johnson Lane. Friends may call today from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel and Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.
