Description	:	Janice Elaine Breashears, Ottawa, Kan., passed away Sunday Jan. 17, 2010, at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo. She was born April 10, 1947 in rural Ottawa, Kan., the daughter of Elton and Gertrude (McManus) Vickers. She was a life-long resident of the Briles Community and she attended Briles Country School until eighth grade. She graduated from Wellsville High School in 1965 and was valedictorian of her class. She was born April 10, 1947 in rural Ottawa, Kan., the daughter of Elton and Gertrude (McManus) Vickers. She was a life-long resident of the Briles Community and she attended Briles Country School until eighth grade. She graduated from Wellsville High School in 1965 and was valedictorian of her class. She earned a Bachelor's of Science in education with a double major in English and social science at Emporia's Kansas State Teacher's College in 1969. She began her teaching career in the Shawnee Mission school district at Nall Wood Junior High where she taught for seven years. She continued teaching at Wellsville High School in 1976 where she taught English and psychology until 1987. Her love for teaching was surpassed only by her love of family and home. She married Donald Breashears July 31, 1971, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa. He survives of the home. Surviving in addition to her husband, are a daughter and her husband, Amy Breashears and Ken Moran, Kansas City, Mo., a brother and his wife, Jerry and Brenda Vickers, Ottawa, a sister, Barbara Oshel, Ottawa, a mother-in-law, June Miller, Leawood, and many nieces and newphews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held ay 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 426 S. Cedar Street, Ottawa, kansas. Interment will follow at Wellsville Cemetery, Wellsville, KS. A Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wilson's Funeral Home, 607 Main Street, Wellsville, KS and followed by a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to Kansas City Hospice House in care of Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O.
