Mrs. Mitchum was born March 31, 1944, in Moncks Corner, SC, a daughter of Bartie Schurlknight and Maggie Mitchum Schurlknight Lail. She was a member of the Bonneau Pentecostal Holiness Church, and enjoyed traveling, gardening, and collecting pigs. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Kary Mitchum, and was the widow of Furman Kary Mitchum, Sr. Surviving are, two sons, Furman Kary "Hollywood" Mitchum, Jr., and his wife, Allison, and Bartie Lewis Mitchum and his wife, Sonya, all of Alvin; three sisters, Doris Mitchum, Dean Mitchum, and Debbie Knight all of Alvin; two step sisters, Peggy Warren of Moncks Corner, and Bobbie Jean Mixon of St. Stephen; a step brother, Butch Lail of Georgia; and three grandchildren, Joshua Blake Mitchum, Marshall Wayne Mitchum, and Logan Lewis Mitchum.
