She grew up in the Two Rivers area south of Valley, where she attended Country School District #24 and graduated from Elkhorn High School in 1952 before graduating from Bahner’s Beauty School in Fremont. Read More	Janice Marie Zimmerly Paasch was born on November 13, 1935 in Omaha to Earl Theodore and Vivian Lindquist Zimmerly. She grew up in the Two Rivers area south of Valley, where she attended Country School District #24 and graduated from Elkhorn High School in 1952 before graduating from Bahner’s Beauty School in Fremont. As a young girl, Janice spent much of her time helping around the home and raising her sister. At an early age, Janice went to work at Miller’s Cafe as a waitress. Janice married Lowell Paasch on June 6, 1953 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elkhorn, Nebraska and they were blessed with three children: Greg, Rod and Sheli. Jan and Lowell have always made their home in the Elkhorn area. Janice always worked hard to help her family, starting at Rob-See-Co, then as a beautician, bookkeeper for the family businesses, a realtor and selling flowers. She enjoyed traveling, golf, attending craft shows, Friday night cocktails and socializing at the Eagles, and her Red Hat Club. Janice’s children remember her passion for her grandchildren, long car rides in the evenings and especially mushroom hunting. Janice was a caring, selfless, supportive woman with a wonderful laugh. She enjoyed watching old westerns, reading and doing puzzles. Janice was an avid Husker fan, loved fried chicken and ice cream, a good scotch and water and dinner out at Farmer Brown’s. She will be forever remembered as “Momo” and for her constant reminder to all of her children and grandchildren to always “Behave.” Janice died October 22, 2015 at Brookestone Meadows after a 16-month battle with lung cancer at the age of 79.She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Vivian; sister, Joyce Bromm; and husband, Lowell. Janice is survived by sons, Greg of Benning-ton and Rod of Waterloo; daughter, Sheli (Brad) Masterson of Elkhorn; nine grandchildren: Shannon, Jeremy, Kerri, Ted, Sarah, Josh, McKinsey, Brett and Jacqui; and four great grandsons.A celebration of life was held on October 26, 2015 at the Elkhorn Eagles Club. A private graveside service and interment was at the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Elkhorn. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.Reichmuth Funeral Home of Elkhorn handled the arrangements.
