Janis was born on February 16, 1937, in Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Lydia (Langhorst) and Louis Koelling . She attended school in Waverly and graduated from Waverly High School in 1955. Read More	Janis Loraine Kaiser, 81 of rural Waverly, Iowa, died on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at her home. Janis was born on February 16, 1937, in Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Lydia (Langhorst) and Louis Koelling . She attended school in Waverly and graduated from Waverly High School in 1955. Following graduation, she worked for the Waverly Telephone Company until 1958. On September 20, 1957, Janis was united in marriage to Elwin H. Kaiser at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waverly. The couple farmed and raised their family near Waverly and after 58 years of marriage, Elwin passed away in December of 2015. Janis was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School in Waverly. In her earlier years, she enjoyed camping and traveling, especially with family. She had a love for music that included listening to classical and holiday music, and playing the keyboard. Janis loved spending time on the internet doing research and of course, shopping! Most of all, Janis really loved spoiling her grandchildren and her canine companion, Bella. Janis is survived by a son, Tim (Tara) Kaiser of Shell Rock, Iowa; a daughter, Kristi Hanson, a son Michael Kaiser; a son Mark (Stephanie) Kaiser and a daughter, Jennifer (Steven) Potratz; all of Waverly, Iowa; her grandchildren, Andrew, Chad, Madison, Kallee, Kennedy, Dawson and Willow; a sister, Ruth Josi; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Vernon Koelling; and two sisters, Evelyn Krug and Geraldine Riggert. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School in Waverly, with Pastor Arthur Bergren officiating. Burial of cremains will follow in Harlington Cemetery, Waverly. Janis’ family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Memorial may be directed to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Schools. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly is assisting the family.
