Description	:	Janis Louise Scholl was born on April 11, 1920 near Anita, Iowa. She was the oldest of 2 surviving children of Lester and Roma Scholl. Janis grew up on the family farm attending country school and then Anita High School. After graduation Janis went west to Grand Island, NE to attend business school. Then she and a girl friend set their sights east ward towards Washington D.C. where they had heard jobs were more plentiful. In November of 1940 on a blind date Janis met Joe Shubert and they were married on June 7th, 1942. Soon after they were married... Read More	Janis Louise Scholl was born on April 11, 1920 near Anita, Iowa. She was the oldest of 2 surviving children of Lester and Roma Scholl. Janis grew up on the family farm attending country school and then Anita High School. After graduation Janis went west to Grand Island, NE to attend business school. Then she and a girl friend set their sights east ward towards Washington D.C. where they had heard jobs were more plentiful. In November of 1940 on a blind date Janis met Joe Shubert and they were married on June 7th, 1942. Soon after they were married Joe enlisted in the Army. Janis and Joe were blessed with a daughter in 1943 but Joe soon after was transferred to Asia for the rest of the war as part of the Army Air Corp. While Joe was overseas Janis worked for the War Department in Washington D.C. and then later moved back to Iowa where she worked for a research laboratory. Upon Joe's return the young family decided to stay in Iowa. In 1951 Janis and Joe were once again blessed with a son Jon. Overt he years the family moved around a bit. Janis was always there serving as a 4-H leader or trying out one new recipe after another. In the late 1940's she was even able to teach Joe how to knit. In 1972 Janis and Joe deiced to make their home in Colorado, when Joe was offered a job with the National Park Service. Janis and Joe were quite the match, both enjoyed sports and each had a creative streak. They lived life to the fullest and with each other to the end. Janis passed away just 3 months after Joe on March 23, 2015 in Lakewood Colorado. She was survived by her daughter Jeri and her son Jon.
