Description	:	The body of John A. Lambert, 76, was found late Tuesday night, November 1, 1955, floating on the surface of the Androscoggin River near the Upper Plants time office of Brown Company. He had apparently left his home at about 5 PM on Tuesday and when he had not returned home by late evening he was reported missing to the local police. Read More	The body of John A. Lambert, 76, was found late Tuesday night, November 1, 1955, floating on the surface of the Androscoggin River near the Upper Plants time office of Brown Company. He had apparently left his home at about 5 PM on Tuesday and when he had not returned home by late evening he was reported missing to the local police. His body was found by a group of men who were working on the river at about 12:30 am Wednesday. Later in the morning on the same day, a cane believed to have belonged to Mr. Lambert was discovered on the Bridge Street bridge. Dr. L.P. Beaudoin, coroner, said that Mr. Lambert had been in very poor health for the past few years. Death was by drowning, but exactly what happened was still unknown. Better known as Fred Lambert, he was born on September 5, 1879 in Berlin NH, the son of Edouard and Marie Martel Lambert. He had been employed as a foreman at the bleachery at Brown Company. He was a member of St. Anne's Church and the Canado-Americaine Society. Surviving relatives are his three sons, Kenneth Lambert of Berlin, Edward Lambert of Gorham, and Alfred Lambert of Livermore Falls, Maine; four daughters, Mrs. Walter Davidson, Miss Marie Lambert, Miss Dora Lambert, Mrs Lyman Dunham all of Berlin NH; two brothers, Octave Lambert of Berlin, Edmond Lambert of Bangor, Maine; four sisters, Mrs. Ernest Gagne, Mrs. Fidele Aube, Mrs. Marie Gosselin all of Berlin NH, Mrs. Arthur Lemieux of Manchester NH; eight grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 5, 1955 at St. Anne's Church. Interment was in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Berlin NH. (info taken from obituary that appeared in The Berlin Reporter)
