Description	:	Jean Ann was born at the Chamberlain Hospital on March 21, 1937 to Jake and Minnie (Fosness) Boschee. They lived on a farm near the White River- currently owned by Norval and Debbie Millard. The family, including little brother Ronald, moved to Presho while the kids were quite young. Jean Ann attended Presho Public School, graduating from PHS in 1955. They lived on a farm near the White River- currently owned by Norval and Debbie Millard. The family, including little brother Ronald, moved to Presho while the kids were quite young. Jean Ann attended Presho Public School, graduating from PHS in 1955. Jean Ann played clarinet and saxophone in the band, and played on the PHS girls basketball team, which was invited to play at the Corn Palace in Mitchell. Quite a trip in the mid-50’s! Jean Ann attended Black Hills Teachers College (now BHSU) in Spearfish, SD. She taught at several rural schools, including the Gibson school and Paige School. Jean Ann and Harold were married June 26, 1958 at the American Lutheran Church in Presho. They raised their four children on the farm, located along Medicine Creek, one mile west of Kennebec. Nelson and Tracy are now raising their four children on that same farm. Driving, and travel, were in her blood! She drove cattle trucks with Harold for many years, drove to Quarter Horse and 4H Horse shows and 4H rodeo events, music contests and school events that the kids, and later grandkids, participated in! Throughout her life, most vacations were road trips! To Hart Ranch, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Washington D.C., Branson, Las Vegas, Myrtle Beach, and maybe more! Jean Ann and Harold also enjoyed a trip to Norway, a cruise to Alaska, and probably more. She always said she had to talk him into going, but when they returned! No one was ever a stranger to Jean Ann, just an acquaintance she had not yet met. If a name escaped her, she would ask, and sometimes follow with, “At least I still know who I am”. She served 25 years as Lyman County Register of Deeds and enjoyed visiting with the folks she served in that office. After her retirement and Harold’s passing in 2012, Jean Ann volunteered at the Thrift Store and More in Presho, on Thursdays, she thoroughly enjoyed both the customers and her fellow volunteers. Jean Ann liked to tell the story of how she attended an auction while working at the Courthouse, and bought Jet Lanes, Presho in the 1980’s, to give Harold and Carl something to keep them busy! Carl has since expanded Jet Lanes is a great asset to Presho and the surrounding area! (So, it was a good buy!) Harold and Jean Ann moved from the farm to Presho in the fall of 2003, and Jean Ann resided there until her move in August of 2019, to Good Samaritan Society at Prairie Creek Assisted Living. Though her time in Sioux Falls was short, she enjoyed her friends and the staff, of the facility. Jean Ann was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Butrick Post Presho and Medicine Creek Grange. Longtime member of Kennebec Lutheran Church and WELCA, Farmers Union, Farm Bureau, Republican Party, and Red Hat Society. She was an avid bowler and golfer, and when these sports were no longer possible for her, she started a “Grannies Dart Group.” She also enjoyed playing bridge with first the Kennebec club and the Vivian bridge club. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents, brother Ronald Boschee, as well as several nieces and nephews.
