She was born in Clifton, Ohio on October 14, 1921, the daughter of the late Leonard and Olive (Miller) McLin. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ellis Lamar Cooke in 2009, two sisters: Betty and Anna; and son-in-law, Webster Bell. Read More	Jean Barbara Cooke October 14, 1921 - July 21, 2014 Resided in Springfield, OH ------------------- Jean Barbara Cooke, 92, of Springfield, died on Monday, July 21, 2014 in Essex of Springfield. She was born in Clifton, Ohio on October 14, 1921, the daughter of the late Leonard and Olive (Miller) McLin. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ellis Lamar Cooke in 2009, two sisters: Betty and Anna; and son-in-law, Webster Bell. She is survived by her four children: Carol Jean of Bellevue, Nebraska; David L. Cooke, Springfield, Gary Cooke of Fairfield, and William E. Cooke, Springfield; eight grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ (East High Street/Vale Road and Fairborn). Jean loved to cook but especially enjoyed baking specialty cakes, for many people and their special days. She was president of the PTA at Lincoln Elementary School, and worked many years at the polls for the Clark County Board of Elections, and was a member of the Grandmothers Club. She was also a prolific reader and taught her children the skill of reading and the enjoyment derived from it. Jean was a lifetime resident of Springfield, and will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 3-5:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where services will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Enon Cemetery.
