Born October 31, 1936 in Brookville, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Harry & Emma (Haas) Sintz. She remained a lifelong resident of Franklin County. Stang, age 71, of Brookville, Indiana, died Monday, April 28, 2008 at Fort Hamilton Hughes Memorial Hospital in Hamilton, Ohio. Born October 31, 1936 in Brookville, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Harry & Emma (Haas) Sintz. She remained a lifelong resident of Franklin County. On September 6, 1958 she was united in marriage to Donald Stang, and he survives. She had been employed at the former Jay Garment Co. in Brookville, and later at the Brookville Elementary School for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Brookville, and had been active with the Franklin County Relay for Life. Besides Donald, her husband of nearly 50 years, survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca (Dennis) Kolb of Brookville; Lori (Brian) Tebbe of Brookville; Jodi (Andy) Schutte of Batesville; a son & daughter-in-law, Edward (Ann) Stang of Batesville, Indiana; a sister, Marjorie Stang of Brookville; three brothers, Burton Sintz and Donald Sintz both of Brookville, and Harold Sintz of Indianapolis, Indiana; as well as eight grandchildren, Ryan Kolb and fiancé Addie Meyer, Derrike Kolb, David Tebbe, Jacob Tebbe, Brandon Schutte, Raleigh Stang, Caleb Stang, and Robert Newkirk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Knecht and Hazel Merrell; and two brothers, Orville Sintz & Cletus Sintz. Rev. Gary W. Anderson will officiate the Funeral Services on Thursday, May 1, 2008, 10:30 A.M., at St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Brookville; burial will then follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville. Family & friends may visit from 5 till 8 P.M. on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville. The family directs memorial contributions to St. Thomas Lutheran Church or the Franklin County Relay for Life.
