Description	:	Eleanor Ferrall, longtime resident of Scottsdale, Ariz., joined her husband Bill in eternity Oct. 26, 2012. The youngest of Christian and Laura Wildermuth's two daughters, Eleanor was born Jan. 11, 1925, in Lima. She saw the hardships of the Great Depression and the horror and sacrifice of World War II. She assisted the war effort by working in the Lima Army Tank Plant. She attended Heidelberg College, Tiffin, where she edited the campus newspaper, graduated with distinction and was noted in "Who's Who of American Colleges and Universities." The youngest of Christian and Laura Wildermuth's two daughters, Eleanor was born Jan. 11, 1925, in Lima. She saw the hardships of the Great Depression and the horror and sacrifice of World War II. She assisted the war effort by working in the Lima Army Tank Plant. She attended Heidelberg College, Tiffin, where she edited the campus newspaper, graduated with distinction and was noted in "Who's Who of American Colleges and Universities." In 1947, she married William Ferrall. Their union would last almost 64 years. A business trip/vacation to Arizona in 1957 resulted in an instant love affair with the desert Southwest and they moved their young family to Scottsdale, Ariz., in 1958. With her boys in school, Eleanor volunteered at the fledgling Scottsdale Public Library. She became a paid staff member there before moving to The Hayden Library at Arizona State University, obtaining her master's degree in English, and ultimately retiring from university service in 1987. Retirement allowed Bill and Eleanor to indulge their passion for national and international travel, to keep up with their children and grandchildren and to support their beloved Arizona Sun Devils. They immersed themselves in volunteer work, spending hundreds of hours working with Scottsdale Methodist Church and Scottsdale Memorial Hospital. Eleanor is preceded in death by her aforementioned parents; her beloved Bill; sister, Esther Lutz; and infant daughter, Kristine. She is survived by sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 24, at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E.
