Gilmour (nee Jean McArthur) of Vancouver was dead. Her many friends in their regret could scarcely credit the first reports, but the sad truth was soon known beyond doubt. Mrs Gilmour had not been well for some time, but following an operation had shown considerable improvement and had returned to her home, when she suddenly became worse and passed away on Sunday last. Deceased was a daughter of the late Wm McArthur and spent all her life in Almonte until about a year ago when she was married to Mr Roy Gilmour, a former Almonte boy, in Vancouver. The many friends of both families in Almonte extend their sincere sympathies to those who mourn. The funeral will take place on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from the residence of Mr A.C. Gilmour, Malcolm street, to the eighth line cemetery.
