Description	:	JEAN MARIE KAUFFMAN, 81, of Loudonville, died Thursday morning, December 4, 2014 in Colonial Manor Health Care Center, Loudonville after a brief illness. Jean was born February 11, 1933 in the little log cabin on the Andrew Jackson Mumper farm in Ashland County, the daughter of the late Irvin and Hazel (Minard) Mumper. She was a Loudonville resident all of her life and a 1951 graduate of Loudonville High School. She earned her teaching degree at Ashland College and later her Master’s degree from Mt. Read More	JEAN MARIE KAUFFMAN, 81, of Loudonville, died Thursday morning, December 4, 2014 in Colonial Manor Health Care Center, Loudonville after a brief illness. Jean was born February 11, 1933 in the little log cabin on the Andrew Jackson Mumper farm in Ashland County, the daughter of the late Irvin and Hazel (Minard) Mumper. She was a Loudonville resident all of her life and a 1951 graduate of Loudonville High School. She earned her teaching degree at Ashland College and later her Master’s degree from Mt. St. Joseph College. Jean taught elementary school for 32 years in the Loudonville-Perrysville School District retiring in 1992, but she continued to substitute teach for 17 more years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Loudonville, a 50 year choir member at Zion, read the Daily Devotions on WZLP-FM for many years, and was a member of The Progress Club. Jean was a proud board member of Loudonville Public Library for over 20 years. On September 23, 1952 she married Paul L. Kauffman, and he died October 20, 2012. Jean is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Gary and Lisa Kauffman of Glen Ridge, New Jersey, and Larry and Linda Kauffman of Loudonville; 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Sharon and Mike Zahn of Bucyrus and Mary and Kim Carr of Loudonville; 8 grandchildren: Kirsten (Brad) Jordan, Nate (Chaya) Zahn, Brad (Heather) Carr, Ryan (Jess) Carr, Scott (Mary) Kauffman, Jared Kauffman, Lauren (Richard) Beans, and David Kauffman; 9 great-grandchildren: Brianna Carr, Gavin Carr, Braden Carr, Lily Carr, Porter Carr, Olivia Jordan, Kathryn Jordan, Colin Jordan, and Liam Paul Kauffman; 1 brother, Larry (Karyle) Mumper of Marion; and 3 sisters: MaryLou (Wayne) Wachtel of Orrville, Joanne (Kenneth) Utterback of Loudonville and Elaine (Bill) Vastine of Texas. Celebration of Jean’s Life Services will be Monday, December 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. In Zion Lutheran Church, Loudonville with Rev. Scott Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Loudonville Cemetery. Family and friends may call Sunday from 3-5 p.m. in LINDSEY FUNERAL HOME, LOUDONVILLE and one hour prior to the services at church. Memorial contributions may be given to Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 222 East Main Street, Loudonville, Ohio, 44842, or Loudonville Public Library, 122 East Main Street, Loudonville, Ohio, 44842.
