She died in Baldwinsville, New York, surrounded by family at her side after a 7 month battle with cancer. Jeanette was born September 27, 1946, in Emporia, KS, to Raymond & Vera (Parker) Curtis. She died in Baldwinsville, New York, surrounded by family at her side after a 7 month battle with cancer. Jeanette was born September 27, 1946, in Emporia, KS, to Raymond & Vera (Parker) Curtis. She attended Council Grove District #417 public schools (graduating class of 1964). She attended and graduated from Crum's Beauty School, Manhattan, KS, as a cosmetologist and had her own shop in Council Grove for more than twenty years. In 1993, Jeanette began her second career as a licensed practical nurse; having graduated from Kansas Technical Institute for Nursing, Emporia, KS. She had recently retired from that career. In 1970, Jeanette and Maurice Ziegler were united in marriage. To this union, two beloved daughters, Charity Renee and Georgina Mae, were born. On August 29, 1980, Robert Adam and Jeanette were married and began a thirty-six year marriage. Attending the First Baptist Church as a child, Jeanette dedicated her life to Jesus Christ and began serving as a practicing Christian. She became a member of the First Congregational Church in 2006 and remained an active member. Jeanette was a woman of great love and kindness. She spent her life caring for her family and friends. She enjoyed life and left her imprint on so many people through her selfless acts of love and sacrifice in service to others and The Lord. She was always on call and only a phone call away. To know her was to love her and she brought peace and joy everywhere she went. She will be deeply missed by all. Her parents, Raymond and Vera Curtis, proceed her in death. Jeanette leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Bob; daughters Charity (Bryan) Gustke, Georgina (Michael) Stanton; four grandsons: Steven Paph, Tyler Gustke, Nicholas Stanton and Joshua Stanton (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) and four granddaughters: Ashley (Gustke) Tirado, Faith (Gustke) Ferrington, Victoria Stanton and Cathryn Stanton (Baldwinsville, N.Y.):; two great-grandchildren: Jacob and Ava Tirado; one sister, Virginia Kay (Curtis) Lockett (Adelanto, CA) and one niece; Kristina (Armando) Velazaquez, Aurora, IL; a host of friends and extended family. A celebration service will be held at the Council Grove, KS, First Congregational Church on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery will follow.
