Elmer Clark of Woodburn, officiating. Burial was in Ottawa cemetery. He was 77 years old. A native of Clarke county, he was born on January 14, 1879, a son of E. L. and Sarah Clark Carson. He received his education in the schools of Clarke county and was married to Harriett Hanlin on March 6, 1901. He was a farmer in this county until his retirement about ten years ago when he moved to Des Moines where he has since made his home. He died at a hospital in that city, Saturday, Sept. 22. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Carson, three of whom survive him. Survivors include one son, Melvin and daughter-in-law, Marie of Osceola; two daughters, Irene Carson of Des Moines and Verda Carson of Chicago; granddaughter, Carolyn Lingle; sister, Meda Heston of Osceola and three brothers; Fred of Osceola; Frank of Woodburn and Schuyler Clark Carson of Des Moines.
