Her sweetness still lingers in the household, though the vase is shattered. The funeral services were conducted at the Presbyterian church at 4 o'clock p.m. Friday, the 18th. The church was crowded with friends who came to show their sincere sympathy for the bereaved family. Rev. J.D. Howey preached the funeral sermon from the text--Isaiah xl: 7; "The Flower Fadeth." Numerous sympathizing friends contributed beautiful floral decorations, consisting of wreaths and many other elegant designs. The death of this dear child is one of those deep, mysterious dealings of God's providence which shows that our ways are not His ways. We can, however, but rejoice that the sorrow that hangs like a shroud over the lintel of her once happy home is not without a solace. The bitter tears that flower over her remains are sweetened by the recollection that she is in the bosom of the Good Shepherd. He gathereth the lambs. Let the Lord select the time to take His own.
