Description	:	Mrs. Jennie Sterns, a former Carbon lady passed away Tuesday at the hospital in Shenandoah. Funeral services wre held at the Roland Funeral Home in Corning Friday afternoon with Rev. Alfred Hunter and Rev. Lewis Hunter in charge. Interment was in the Nodaway Cemetery. Relaives here to attend funeral services were guest as the Dean Walford home Saturday. Adams County Free Press, September 2, 1965, page 3 Jennie Leona Sterns passed away Tuesday, August 24, 1965 at Shenandoah, Iowa at the age of 79. She was born June 16, 1886 at Hubble, Nebraska to Jack and Cora McKee, one of 10 Children. She was married to Bert Alfred Sterns on September 28, 1903 at Carbon, Iowa. To this union six children were born: William Earl Strns of Boyes, Hot Springs, California; George Edward Sterns of Panoia, Colorado; Daisy V. Armstrong of Farragut, Iowa; Jennie, who passed away in infancy in 1913; Cora A. (Bonnie) Vidmar of Palisade, California; Viola Patterson of Clifton, Colorado. Her husband passed away February 17, 1951. Survivors include five children, seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Nick McKee of Holton, Kansas, and Andy McKee of Sulphur Springs, Arkansas; two sisters, Blanche Merritt of Kansas City, Kansas, and Florence Peeples of Excelsior Springs, Missouri. She was a devoted Christian and was a member of the Free Methodist Church. Jennie will be greatly missed by her family and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Friday, August 27, at 2 p.m. from Roland Funeral Home with Rev. Alfred Hunter officiating. Interment in the Nodaway Cemetery.
