She attained the age of 91 years, two months and eight days. Jennie Marie Straatmeyer was born on a farm six miles north of Lennox, South Dakota on Mar. 26, 1914, the daughter of Albert and Janna (Buskohl) Straatmeyer. On Mar. 21, 1935 Jennie was united in marriage to Edwin O. Musch in Lennox. Following their marriage they farmed northwest of Lennox until the death of her husband on Mar. 18, 1970. She moved to Sioux Falls and was employed at Lewis Drug Southgate and then at Dixie Bake Shoppe. She was a Senior Companion for several years until ill health forced her retirement. Jennie had been a longtime member of Germantown Presbyterian Church of rural Chancellor and later transferred her membership to Linwood Wesleyan Church in Sioux Falls. She was always active in her church and in the women's groups. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Elroy Musch, on Jan. 18, 1997. She was the last surviving member of the Albert and Janna Straatmeyer family, a family of 12 children. Grateful for having shared her life are her son and daughter-in-law, Virgil and Carole Musch, Lennox; her daughter-in-law, Gladys Musch, Sioux Falls; five grandchildren and their spouses: Greg and Cathy Musch, Hartley, Iowa, Susan and Kevin Elsberry, Boone, Iowa, Mike and Kim Musch, Lennox, Barb and Kevin Gross, Elkton and Steve and Dana Musch, Rapid City; 14 great-grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews.
