Description	:	Jennie Marion Byerly was born on March 6, 1913, as one of eleven children born to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dwinell of Ericson, Neb. After being ill for some time, she died at the age of 94, on July 30, 2007, at her home in Chico. Jennie was married to Forest M. Byerly on June 12, 1931. Read More	Jennie Marion Byerly was born on March 6, 1913, as one of eleven children born to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dwinell of Ericson, Neb. After being ill for some time, she died at the age of 94, on July 30, 2007, at her home in Chico. Jennie was married to Forest M. Byerly on June 12, 1931. Three years later, in 1934, they and their two year old son moved to California. About eight years later, they settled in Chico, and this has been their home ever since. However, her beloved husband preceded her in death on April 17, 1992. Jennie was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, and all through the years, she capably handled activities in several departments of the church. She was a devoted Christian and during the last few months of her life, she just wanted to "go home" to be with God. For many years she served on the election board, for the city, through many elections. Later in life she did voluntary work for the Salvation Army. But most of all, Jennie was a homemaker. She was a wonderful cook and housekeeper. But what was most meaningful to her was being a good mother. She was a wonderful mother to her three children two sons: Forest C. Byerly of Shasta Lake, Calif., Marvin L. Byerly of Modesto, Calif., and one daughter, Joyce A. Green of Henderson, Nev. Jennie's family also includes: five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving her is one sister Mrs. Emily Larson, of Burt, Iowa, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. After a family gathering at the graveside, there will be a 11:30 memorial service at Brusie Funeral Chapel, Chico, Calif. Any memorial gifts may be sent to the Salvation Army here in Chico. Visitation will be Monday evening, Aug. 6, 2007, from 5-8 p.m., at Brusie Funeral Home.
