Read More	Jennie Maxine Pester Morrow was born on Armistice Day, November 11, 1918, to Carl Hays Pester and Golda Olive Kincade Pester at the family farm southwest of Seymour, Wayne County, Iowa. She passed away on December 8, 2003 at the age of 85 years, 27 days. At the time of her death, she had been a resident of the Seymour Community Care Center for ten days having been transferred from Mercy Medical Center in Centerville after suffering a stroke. She enjoyed the farm life when she was a young girl, taking delight in riding horses with friends to country school and playing with her Scottish terrier Mikey. She graduated from Seymour High School in 1936. Also, in the class of 1936 was a handsome young man, Max Morrow, who won Maxine's heart. Once Max was in the U.S. Army Air Corps and stationed in San Diego, California, the young couple eloped to Yuma , Arizona and were married on September 15, 1942. When Max shipped over seas, she lived in Richmond, California with her brother Wendell and his family and worked in the shipyards. Once World War II was over and Max was discharged they moved back to Seymour to run the family business, Morrow Market and Locker until retirement in 1985. Maxine was more than a devoted wife and mother. She was an active member in the United Methodist Church, volunteering her time and talents until her health declined. She was a long time member of PEO and, along with Max , served the community through the Community Club, Meals on Wheels and numerous other committees whenever asked. She also enjoyed helping out with bingo night at the American Legion Post 180. Maxine enjoyed many years of activities such as golf, bowling and bird watching. She loved doing crafts, painting and traveling with Max after their retirement. Those were treasured times. Two children were born to Maxine and Max: Richard Max and Barbara Lynn. They were active in their children's school activities and supportive of their careers and families. Maxine loved being a grandma to her three grand daughters. Preceding Maxine in death were her parents, brothers Wendell H. Pester and Virgil K. Pester and her beloved husband Max in 1997. She continued to live in the home they built together in Seymour until the fall of 2002 when she moved to Maple Grove Senior Living in Centerville. She resided there until her recent hospitalization. Interment was in Southlawn Cemetery in Seymour, Iowa.
