Description	:	Jennie Walker was the daughter of Douglas W. Walker and Sarah E. Miller. Jennie's father died when she was just seven years old. Douglas and Sarah's other child was Edward Carlos Walker, just four when his father died. I do not know what became of Sarah after her husband died, but the children can be found living in different relative households in the 1860 and 1870 Federal census. She was Edmund's third wife after he had become widowed by his first and second wives: Nancy McCune, and Georgeana (Lovell) Walker -- Lovell was Georgeana's maiden name, and she was the widow of George Walker Jr. before she married Edmund. Jennie received Edward's widow benefit pension for his service in the Mexican War as E 2 Ohio Volunteer Infantry. A daughter Gladys Lovel Wheeler was born to Jennie and Edmund on 7 March 1888. The name in some records are transcribed as 'Ladies Love Wheeler'. Gladys and her mother can be found in the 1900 Fed. census in Ames, Athens County, Ohio. Gladys L. Wheeler married Walter A. Cartenell 9 May 1909, the son of Joseph Walter Cartenell and Mary B. Finch. Jennie's tombstone is listed as Jennie Walker Wheeler in the 21st row from the top of the hill. The first stone in that row is of Emmett T. Montgomery 1885-1917, then about 7 stones or spaces from Emmitt, between KL McLead b. 1874 and the Infant Linscott d. 16 May 1910, the daughter of G O & Lucille Linscott d. 16 MAY 1910 & about 4 stones away is a stone for Genie & Stella with birds on the stone; near the Wright headstone.
