Read More	DEATH SUMMONS JERRY THRAPP Jerry Thrapp, another one of the early Knox county settlers has been called by death. He passed away at his home in Creighton on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30, following an illness of influenza and pneumonia. The deceased was born on July 8, 1851 at Morley, Ia., where the days of his youth were spent. At the age of 21, he was united in marriage to Delia Simpson at Morley. Following his marriage he removed to Eldorado, Kans., and while in that city his wife died. After residing in Kansas for four years, he again returned to Morley, Ia. At the age of 28 years he married the second time to Carrie Elizabeth Smith at Independence, Ia., on January 17, 1879. This union was blessed with seven children, four of whom are living. The four surviving are three sons, George of Bird City, Kans., Wilbur and Winnie at home and one daughter, Iva at home. Twins, a boy and girl, Leonard and Nellie and a daughter, Amy, passed on in infancy. In the year 1886 Mr. Thrapp came to Nebraska with his family and located on a farm near Niobrara. After residing here five years they moved to a farm near Verdigre where they established a home. In 1922 Mr. Thrapp and his family removed to Creighton and have resided here continuously up to the time of his death. Mrs. Thrapp preceded him to the great beyond about two years ago. Mr. Thrapp had followed the occupation of farming nearly all his life and during his residence here farmed a sixty acre tract of land near town with his son, Winnie. Mr. Thrapp, being one of the early settlers passed through the various developments of the county from the days of pioneer existence to the present time. He experienced many hard ships and privations through the many causes incident to the first days of settlement on the western frontier. He was a man honored and respected by all his acquaintances and was square in all his business dealings. His passing will be mourned by many. He was a member of the Methodist church and attended services whenever his health would permit him to go. Besides the four children, he leaves to mourn one sister, Mrs. Emily Bowen of Morley, Ia., three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church here this Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. with Rev. W.E. Wilson officiating.
