Survivors are: wife, Ellen Diessner of Liberty, Mo.; son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Robyn Diessner and their children, Gideon, Kiana and Credence of Salt Lake City, Utah; mother, Rosie Diessner of Spalding; sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Dave Gerlach of Grand Island, and their daughter, Jamie Menagh and family. Read More	Jerome Joseph "Jerry" Diessner, 60, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Mo. Jerry was born Aug. 30, 1950, in Spalding to Bernard and Rosie (O'Neill) Diessner. Survivors are: wife, Ellen Diessner of Liberty, Mo.; son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Robyn Diessner and their children, Gideon, Kiana and Credence of Salt Lake City, Utah; mother, Rosie Diessner of Spalding; sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Dave Gerlach of Grand Island, and their daughter, Jamie Menagh and family. Jerry graduated from Spalding Public High School and attended Central Community College in Hastings. Jerry was joined in marriage to Ellen Flanigan from Greeley on Nov. 22, 1975, and they recently celebrated their 35th anniversary. Jerry and Ellen lived in Nebraska, North Dakota, Utah, Idaho and Montana while he worked setting towers for power lines. He was especially proud of his accomplishments at that job and throughout his many careers he will always be remembered as a respected boss who always "worked the hardest" and cared for the welfare of his employees. In 1983, Jerry and Ellen settled in Heber City, Utah where they raised their children, Patrick and Cristy. In 2006, Jerry and Ellen relocated to Liberty, Mo. Jerry's wife and children were always his first priority. He was happiest when they vacationed at a destination that he knew his family would enjoy. His fondest vacation memories were skiing, camping, visiting natural hot springs, and enjoying the outdoors. Jerry was fond of taking motorcycle trips on his Harley. He was an avid reader and was skilled at mechanics. Jerry has gone to be with his daughter, Cristy, and father, Bernard, who both preceded him in death.
