Jerry was born on April 28, 1952, at home to Harold and Kathryn (Parker) McKim. He grew up in Albia and attended Albia School until the 11th grade. Read More	Jerry Allen McKim, age 68, of Albia, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020, at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia, IA. Jerry was born on April 28, 1952, at home to Harold and Kathryn (Parker) McKim. He grew up in Albia and attended Albia School until the 11th grade. He had many jobs over the years until starting with the county in 1983, eventually retiring from there. He was united in marriage to Sandy Kay Stewart on June 27, 1970. To this union, 2 sons were born, Jerry Allen McKim Jr. on February 13, 1971 and Kevin James McKim on July 24, 1972. Jerry enjoyed camping, fishing, working on cars, watching his kids and grandkids play sports, derbies, and working on lawnmowers with his grandsons. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sandy McKim; his two sons, Jerry (Leslie) and Kevin (Donna) McKim; his grandchildren, Trent, Justin, Megan, Bryce, Drake and Lexie; great-grandchildren, Tristian, Parker, Emmitt, Branz, Easton, and a baby girl coming in January 2021; and his siblings, Dorothy, Norma, Carol, Barbie, Geraldine, Paul, Kathy, Alzina, Eddie, Rosie, and Rita. Jerry is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Kathryn; a brother, Harold; three sisters, Leona, Diane, and Beverly; and four brothers-in-law, LeRoy, Dickie, Larry and Kenny. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Jerry’s family present from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. to greet family and friends. According to the rules put in place by the Iowa Department of Public Health, proper social distancing and reasonable personal protective equipment is advised for attending a religious public event. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Pastor Brad Gray officiating. Burial will follow services in Selection Cemetery in Monroe County. An open memorial has been established to the family.
