He had entered the hospital Friday for surgery for a congenital heart defect and died at 4 p.m. Saturday, during the operation. The body was brought to the Johannsen Funeral home Sunday. Services Held Tuesday Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon in the Presbyterian church. Rev. James W. Bean, pastor of the Presbyterian church, conducted the service and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Burr, accompanied by Mrs. Kirk McQuilkin, sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “The Old Rugged Cross.” Casket bearers were Roy Koontz, Gerald Bedard, Herbert Ludwig and Leslie Newton. Mrs. M.R. Linde and Mrs. Ralph Poters were in charge of the flowers. Burial was made in West View cemetery. Jerry Dean was born to Gilbert and Edith McNamee Sinders of La Porte City in St. Francis hospital, Waterloo, Nov. 22, 1949. He was a kindergarten pupil in La Porte City consolidated school. Survivors He leaves his parents; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Boemecke of Ely, Nevada, Jeanette of Waterloo and Betty at home; two brothers, Eddie in the Air Force at San Marcus, Texas and Bobbie at home and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Sinders of Clay City, Ind. Relatives and friends from a distance who attended the funeral services were: Mrs. Ray Miller, Mrs. Clarence Craig, Clifford Sinders and Earl Sinders, Clay City, Ind.; Dr. and Mrs. Jesse McNamee, Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Blough, Nashua and other from Waterloo, Traer and Dysart.
