She was born August 11, 1937 in Elkins, WV the daughter of the late Arland K. and Ruth L. (Weese) Mitchell. She is survived by one daughter Laurinda A. Freeland and husband Tom of Monroe, GA, one son Mitchell Jordan of Essex, MD, two grandchildren Kyle E. Gibson and Shannon L. Freeland and several relatives in Barbour County, WV. She was born August 11, 1937 in Elkins, WV the daughter of the late Arland K. and Ruth L. (Weese) Mitchell. She is survived by one daughter Laurinda A. Freeland and husband Tom of Monroe, GA, one son Mitchell Jordan of Essex, MD, two grandchildren Kyle E. Gibson and Shannon L. Freeland and several relatives in Barbour County, WV. Mrs. Jordan graduated of Kenwood High School in MD and received her Law degree from the University Of Baltimore School Of Law. She was a self-employed attorney practicing in Baltimore, MD where she retired. Ms. Jordan was the first woman assistant States Attorney and Public Defender in the State of Maryland. She also held the position of Chairman of the Baltimore County Liquor Board. She was a member of the Bar Association of Maryland and the Chamber of Commerce of Essex, MD. Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from Pastor Arden Beck officiating. Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Ms. Jerry Denise Jordon.
