Weese Mitchell, 90, a resident of Barron Avenue in Essex, Md., and formerly of Barbour County, departed this life 7:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, in Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore, Md., following a period of declining health. She was born July 25, 1917, at the Mt. Liberty community in Barbour County, a daughter of the late H.C. “Harold” Weese and Ethel Booth Weese. On Aug. 12, 1935, she was united in marriage to Arland K. She was born July 25, 1917, at the Mt. Liberty community in Barbour County, a daughter of the late H.C. “Harold” Weese and Ethel Booth Weese. On Aug. 12, 1935, she was united in marriage to Arland K. Mitchell, who preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 1974. Mrs. Mitchell is survived one daughter, Jerry Jordon of Essex, Md.; two sisters, Nina Lee Allen and husband, Bud, of Belington and Irene Ensminger of Roanoke, Va.; and two brothers, Arnold Weese and wife, Patty, and Luther Weese and wife, Connie, all of Belington. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Laurinda A. Freeland of Georgia, and Mitchell C. Jordan of Essex, Md., two great-grandchildren, Kyle E. Gibson and Shannon L. Freeland; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 11 siblings. She attended the schools of Mt. Liberty, was a homemaker and was a member of First Baptist Church of Essex, Md. Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home, 210 Brandenburg St. in Belington . Services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Arden Beck officiating. Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington. Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Ruth L. Weese Mitchell.
