Description	:	Jerry Ernest Peters, 66, of Vevay, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at King's Daughters' Hospital. He was born July 26, 1943, in Switzerland County, the son of Ernest and Magnolia "Maggie" Whitham Peters. He was raised in Switzerland County and was a 1962 graduate of Vevay High School. He joined the Army on Aug. 15, 1966, served in the Vietnam War and was discharged from the Army Reserves on May 12, 1971. He was employed at the Joseph E. Read More	Jerry Ernest Peters, 66, of Vevay, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at King's Daughters' Hospital. He was born July 26, 1943, in Switzerland County, the son of Ernest and Magnolia "Maggie" Whitham Peters. He was raised in Switzerland County and was a 1962 graduate of Vevay High School. He joined the Army on Aug. 15, 1966, served in the Vietnam War and was discharged from the Army Reserves on May 12, 1971. He was employed at the Joseph E. Seagram's Distillery in Lawrenceburg as a production union laborer, retiring in 2007 after 43 years of service. Early in life, he was employed in the construction of the Markland Dam. He was a member of the Brushy Fork Baptist Church and the UFCW Local 13 in Lawrenceburg. He enjoyed gardening, especially his roses. He also enjoyed traveling and taking trips with his wife to Gatlinburg, Tenn. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Bess Robinson Peters, whom he married Jan. 29, 1972; one daughter, Jerri Lynn Peters of Vevay; one son, Christopher Peters of Cincinnati, Ohio; four brothers, Donald Peters of North Vernon, Norman Peters of Patriot, Gerald "Bill" Peters of Madison and Terry Peters of West Chester, Ohio; one sister, Betty Peters of Hanover; three granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Robin Renee Peters, who died June 12, 1972; and his parents. The funeral was at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Burial was in Vevay Cemetery. Military honors were conducted graveside by Vevay Post 185 of the American Legion and the Vevay Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5396. Madison Courier 2/1/10
