Description	:	Norman Lee Peters, 74, of Patriot, died Monday, May 16, 2011, at Hosparus Inpatient Unit in Louisville, Ky. He was born July 12, 1936, in Switzerland County, the son of Ernest and Magnolia "Maggie" Whitham Peters. He resided his entire life and attended school in Switzerland County. Read More	Norman Lee Peters, 74, of Patriot, died Monday, May 16, 2011, at Hosparus Inpatient Unit in Louisville, Ky. He was born July 12, 1936, in Switzerland County, the son of Ernest and Magnolia "Maggie" Whitham Peters. He resided his entire life and attended school in Switzerland County. He was married July 2, 1954, to Anna Bailey. He was employed at the Schenley Distillery in Lawrenceburg until it closed and was employed at Old Fitzgerald Heaven Hill Distilleries in Louisville, Ky., until his retirement at age 55. After his retirement he owned and operated the Main Street Cafe in Rising Sun for eight years. He had worked the past 11 years as a groundskeeper and maintenance worker for the Grand Victoria Golf Course in Rising Sun. He had farmed all of his life, raising beef cattle, hogs, sheep and tobacco. He was a member of the Patriot Belle River Lodge 327 F&AM. He was also a member of the Rising Sun Sons of the American Legion. He was a fan of the Lawrenceburg Speedway and enjoyed horse pulls, tractor pulls, coon hunting and car races. He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Hussong of Patriot and Cynthia Follis of Aurora; one son, Norman Peters Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio; three brothers, Donald Peters of North Vernon, Gerald "Bill" Peters of Madison and Terry Peters of West Chester, Ohio; one sister, Betty Peters of Hanover; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry Ernest Peters, who died Jan. 31, 2010. The funeral will be at noon Friday at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Burial will be in Vevay Cemetery. Madison Courier 5/18/11
