Mr. Poss was born Dec. 14, 1905, at rural Cotesfield to Louis and Emma (Halm) Poss. He grew up north of Cotesfield and attended District 5 School northeast of Cotesfield. After his education he farmed with his brother, Fred. On June 1, 1932, he married Wilma Payton at St. Paul. The couple farmed in the Cotesfield and Scotia area all their life. They moved into Scotia in the late 1950's but continued to farm. In 1973 they retired from farming and moved to St. Paul in 1975. He enjoyed dancing and polkas. He was a member of the United Methodist church in St. Paul. Survivors include his wife, Wilma of St. Paul; one brother, Fred of Scotia; two sisters, Esther Matousek of St. Paul and Florence Poss of Cotesfield; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and William and an infant brother, Melvin; and two sisters, Katherine Matousek and Carrie Tuma.
