Jensen Seggerman": Jess Henry Most was born on the family homestead on Section 13 in Franklin Township, 3 1/2 miles east of Ohiowa, on March 14, 1905, to Henry Conrad Most and Anna Fricke Most. Jensen Seggerman": Jess Henry Most was born on the family homestead on Section 13 in Franklin Township, 3 1/2 miles east of Ohiowa, on March 14, 1905, to Henry Conrad Most and Anna Fricke Most. He passed away Sunday, July 29, 2001, at the Fillmore County Hospital Long Term Care in Geneva, at the age of 96 years, 4 months, and 15 days. He was one of three children in the family. Pastor Matthew Kossick baptized him in St. John's Lutheran Church located east of Ohiowa. He was confirmed on Nov. 7, 1920 at St. John's Lutheran Church by Pastor J. A. Bahansen. His memory verse was Psalm 23. Jess received his education at District No. 41 "Lone Star School" through the eighth grade. On Dec. 13, 1927, he was married to Ida Clare Fries of Ohiowa. They had one son, Morley. The family lived on a farm four miles east of Ohiowa for 43 years and then moved to Ohiowa in 1980. The last few days he resided at Long Term Care at Geneva. Jess was a member of the School Board at District No. 41 for six years and worked for N.K.C. elevator for several years. He and Ida were custodians for the St. John's Lutheran Church for 15 years. He was a member of the Brother hood for several years, a life long member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and served on the Franklin Township Board and the Ohiowa Chamber of Commerce. Jess began farming with horses and saw many changes in farming techniques and farm implements. He had much pride and enjoyed taking care of his house and garden and could always raise the largest potatoes. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Most and Anna Most; and by his brother, Roy. Survivors include his wife, Ida C. Fries Most; his son, Morley and wife, Darlene Most of Ohiowa; two grandsons, Scott and wife Kristi of Tobias, Steven in Kosovo; and granddaughter, Sharlene of York; two great-granddaughters, Anna and Sara Most of Tobias; sister, Hazel Strope of Geneva; nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were conducted from St. John's Lutheran Church in Ohiowa on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, with Maynard P. Kellerman officiating. Nancy Cradduck accompanied the congregation singing of "Nearer My God to Thee," "Jesus Savior Pilot Me" and "Amazing Grace." Casket bearers were Roy Chapman, Verlin Most, Kenneth Mussman, Lowell "Butch" Myers, Galen Niederklein and Robert Wulf. Interment was in the Ohiowa Public Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal August 2001.
