Eberhart The many friends here of Jesse Eberhart, of San Pierre, were sorely shocked the past week to learn of his untimely death on last Friday night of the influenza, which he contracted just a week previous. His passing, just in the prime of his young manhood, is mourned by hosts of friends and neighbors. Jesse Edward Eberhart was born in Huntington county, Indiana, Aug. 14, 1887 and departed this life at his home in San Pierre, Indiana, Friday, Nov. 1, 1918 at 10:05 p.m. He was the eldest son of Emanuel Eberhart and wife, and was 31 years, 2 months and 18 days at the time of his death. On Feb. 9, 1907 he was united in marriage to Pauline Tousek, to which union was born three sons, Earl, 10 years old, Harold, 8 years old, Chester, 5 years old, and one daughter, LaVergne, 3 years old. He was a member of The Modern Woodmen of America in which organization he held membership until his death. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, his four children, a father and mother and two brothers, Clarence and Alonzo. Deceased was of a congenial nature who's sunny disposition won for him a host of friends who join the bereaved family in the mourning over his untimely death. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon from the home in San Pierre, in charge of Rev. Collier of North Judson, and interment was made in the San Pierre cemetery. --The North Judson News (North Judson, IN), Nov. 7, 1918
