Description	:	Jesse E. Benn, son of Joseph and Mary Benn, was born in Hillsboro, Iowa, on August 25, 1874. His death came suddenly on March 30, 1950, at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 5 days. He was preceded in death by his only brother, Bert Benn, who died in 1903. On January 25, 1899, he was united in marriage to Miss Belle Williamson. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on January 25th of last year. Benn, son of Joseph and Mary Benn, was born in Hillsboro, Iowa, on August 25, 1874. His death came suddenly on March 30, 1950, at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 5 days. He was preceded in death by his only brother, Bert Benn, who died in 1903. On January 25, 1899, he was united in marriage to Miss Belle Williamson. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on January 25th of last year. The Benns have lived in Hillsboro since their marriage with the exception of a few years spent in Farmington, where he was in the jewelry business. In Hillsboro, he was in the jewelry business and an automobile salesman. He and his wife are both charter members of the Christian Church in Hillsboro. He is also a member of the Woodman Lodge. Mr. Benn is survived by his wife. Also, a niece, Mrs. Orla Downard, and a nephew, Mr. John Williamson, survive. They were taken into the Benn home when their Mother died, and were loved and cared for as their own. Also surviving are a number of other nieces and nephews. Mr. Benn was a man of strong character and especially well liked by everyone who knew him. He was a friend to all and was often called "Uncle Jess" by the residents of Hillsboro. Last rites were held at the Christian Church at 2 p.m. Saturday. Rev. Samuel Williamson of Fairfield and Rev. Edwin Skoglund of the Baptist Church assisted. Mrs. Grace Kasper was soloist, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Burl Clark. Internment was in Hillsboro Cemetery.
