He was probably working his father’s farm, Jesse Sr., (perhaps the family farm) as in 1850 Jesse Sr. has a farm in Dalton which includes 75 acres of improved land, 50 acres unimproved, 2 horses, 2 cows, 2 oxen, 1 steer, 20 sheep, 2 pigs and selling wheat, corn, peas, beans, hay, and butter. Jesse Emery had three wives: Married May 4, 1889 in Littleton by Clergy G.C. Waterman, Mary Vayo Keyser she was born Sherbrooke Canada about 1874 And they had: Daughter Flora May B. Concord VT Oct. 9, 1891 Son B. Littleton NH June 2, 1893 and D. June 5, 1893 3 days old (premature) and laid to rest in Bethlehem Noted as child of Jesse E. and Mary “Vigue”(one g). Son Francis David B. Lancaster Sept. 3, 1894 noted as child of Jesse E and Mary “Viggue” Mardin (2 g’s). He was a farmer of Seavey Rd., Belmont NH. He married Mabelle Esther Lamper Feb. 16, 1918 the daughter of Orren and Grace Lamper. Their children were: Dorothy May, Caroline Grace, Elizabeth Belle, Carroll a son and Lewis. Francis passed away in Laconia in 1970. Daughter Alice May B. Littleton Oct. 4, 1897 ----------------------- Married July 3, 1900 in Meredith by G.J. Bard Clergy, Clara Messer, widow of Center Harbor. She was born about 1869 daughter of Frank Nathan, of Laconia (he was born in France) and Alice Ray who was born in Canada Daughter Stella Emma Bell B. Laconia ----------------------- Married Mary A. Christie (Deware) in Laconia NH June 8, 1908. Mary was born Saint Lawrence PQ or St. Johns N.B., on April 30, 1867. She was the daughter of Chas David and Lucy, Christie of Quebec. A widow of first husband Deware. She passed away in Gilford NH Dec. 22, 1924 age 53. Daughter Stella lived in home of third wife Mary. Children of Mary A. Christie Deware and Jesse E. Marden Daughter: Ruth B. Gilford Dec. 10, 1910 Daughter: Baby girl, stillborn on Feb. 1, 1914 Laid to rest at Center Cemetery ------------------------- Jesse was laid to rest July 18,1945. All three: Jesse E., Mary A. and girl baby are in lot 994. Note: Dates used are those on file at cemetery.
