Kerr Killed in Automobile Accident Near Verona Jesse M. Kerr was killed instantly in an accident Tuesday night at the overhead crossing near Verona. Last Tuesday evening a car driven by Norris Noble, of Geraldine, and occupied by Jesse Kerr of Belt, collided with one driven by Herbert Farley, of near Verona. The cars were crossing the Verona overpass when the hubcaps on the cars caught together, the car driven by Noble traveled for some distance and left the grade, overturning. It is thought that Mr. Kerr attempted to leave the car and was caught by the car door when the car turned over, causing injuries that resulted in instant death. Noble received a chest injury. An inquest was held at the scene of the wreck and it brought a verdict of an "unavoidable accident." Mr. Kerr has been working on the highway out of Big Sandy for some time and they had been to Big Sandy and were returning to their camp when the accident happened. He was about 60 years of age and is survived by his widow, five sons and two daughters. Funeral services were held in Belt last Saturday.
