He was born on January 2, 1933 in Huttig, Arkansas to the late Olen & Lucille (Woolley) Womack. The United States Navy brought Jesse to Jacksonville, Florida, being stationed at Naval Air Station Mayport, proudly serving aboard the USS Randolph. Jesse continued his career in civil service in the Tool and Dye trade as a member of the National Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers, retiring after more than 30 years of dedicated service. Jesse was a talented woodworker, was a member of the bowling league at Jax Lanes for many years, and enjoyed gardening. He was a member at Holiday Hill Baptist Church, where he rose to the role of Deacon and taught Sunday school. He loved family gatherings and spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends whom he dearly loved. Jesse was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joann, two brothers Glenn and James, two sisters, Gloria and Sylvia. He is survived by two sisters, Judy (Eddie) Gathright, Huttig, AR, and Diane (Mike) Brumley, El Dorado, AR., two daughters, Karen (David) Devine, Bell Buckle, TN., Sharon (Ed) Deslatte, Murfreesboro, TN., and four step children, Pam (Steve) Bailey, Gainesville, FL., Martin Dulaney, FL., James Dulaney, Jacksonville, FL., and Shirley Cunningham, Jacksonville, FL. Six grandchildren, Amanda, Alissa, Christian, Cara, Meghan, and Matthew, three great granddaughters, Taylor, Annabelle, and Anastasia, and loving companion, Mary Hunter, along with many other family and friends. Jesse's life will be celebrated in a memorial service on Saturday, February 28th, at 11:00 A.M. at Holiday Hill Baptist Church, 730 Mandalay Rd., Jacksonville, Florida 32216, with Pastor Albert Byrd officiating. Jesse will be interred during graveside services on Saturday, March 7th from 2 to 4 P.M. at the Harper Springs Cemetery in Huttig, Arkansas.
