Merced Express, September 18, 1936 JESSE TURNER RITES TODAY: Grave side funeral services will be held in the Turner-Helm cemetery at Le Grand Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Jesse Nicholas Turner, 62, who died at the Merced General Hospital late Tuesday night. Turner was a retired gold miner and was a member of the original Turner family which settled in Le Grand several yeas ago. His father was one of the most prominent of early day Merced county settlers. He is survived by two sons, Wade H. Turner of Dinuba and Dwight L. Turner of Pittsburg. Another son, Jess, died several years ago. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Marvel Goode of Madera, two brothers, Newton H. Turner of Sonora and Wade H. Turner of Le Grand, and three sisters, one of whom is Mrs Stella Richey of Berkeley. *** The Ivers & Alcorn funeral home will have charge of the services.
