Loe, 68, of 702 South Line street, retired employe of the Briggs Fertilizer Plant, will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Smith and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Graham L. Kleespie, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in the eberhard cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:00 p.m. today. Mr. Loe died at approximarely 10:20 a.m. Friday while assisting his step-son, George Kneller and Roe Goble with the combining of soybeans in the field directly west of the Ross Heinzelman home in Jefferson township. He had not been feeling well recently and had made plans to return to the office of the family physician for further treatment. He was a native of Richland township, and was born September 28, 1891, a son of Reuben and Ida Ressler Loe, December 28, 1914 , he was united in marriage to Ada M. Buttler. he was later married to Bertha Kneller and they have spent their entire married life in Columbia City. During the past four years they have resided at their present home, 702 South Line street. Mr. Loe was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and the Columbia City Moose Lodge. The surviving relatives include his wife, Bertha; three sons, Stuart Loe, of Larwill; Stanley Loe, hollywood, Florida; Phil Loe, Fort wayne; one brother, Henry Loe, Columbia City; three sisters, Mrs. William E. Mathias of Larwill and Mrs. Barbara Plummer and Mrs. Icy Beasley, Columbia City; four step-sons, George Kneller, jefferson township; Ray Kneller, Fort Wayne; Sherman Kneller and Paul Kneller, both of Columbia City; one step-daughter, Mrs. Clela Richard, North Webster; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dr. Jerome Wait, the Whitley County coroner is conducting an inquest to determine the cause of death.
