He was born April 8,1915, at Severy, the son of Frank and May Jane(Jones)Bane. A lifetime resident of Greenwood County, he attended Piedmont schools, graduating from Piedmont High School in the Class of 1934. He was born April 8,1915, at Severy, the son of Frank and May Jane(Jones)Bane. A lifetime resident of Greenwood County, he attended Piedmont schools, graduating from Piedmont High School in the Class of 1934. On May 18, 1941, he was united in marriage to Lenora Hale at Great Bend. She preceded him in death on March 19, 1979. He was married to Alberta L. Margheim-Evans on May 9, 1980, at Emporia, KS. Jesse was a farmer in the Hamilton area for many years, and following 50 years of farming, he retired and then drove a school bus for U.S.D.389 for eight years. He was a member of Fidelity Lodge No.106 A.F.& A.M. at Eureka where he had held all elective offices including Master of the Lodge, a member of Queen Bess Chapter 56 Order of the Eastern Star, of which he had served as Worthy Patron nine years, and the York Rite Bodies of Eureka and ElDorado. He was a longtime member of the Eureka Lions Club and served as President in 1991 and 1992, and he had been a member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Eureka since 1952. He bowled and participated in activities at the Eureka Senior Center. He is survived by his wife, Alberta, at home in Eureka; one son, Roger Bane of Fairfield, CA.; one daughter, Doris Green of Dallas, TX.; one step-son, Jeff Evans of Vallejo, CA.; two step-daughters, June LeRoy of Eureka and Nancy Evan-Bynes of Vallejo, CA.; two brothers, Glen Bane and Dayrel Bane, both of Eureka; one sister, Viola Chancellor of Howard; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 10, at Christ Lutheran Church in Eureka with Pastor Mark Gruner officiating. Interment followed in the Greenwood Cemetery at Eureka with Masonic graveside services conducted by Fidelity Lodge No. 106 A.F. & A.M.
