Read More	Jesse Wilson Walker was born in Juniata County, Pennsylvania, September 16, 1844. He was one of seven children, three of whom are still living, Hiram, who lives in Ogallala, Neb., Elizabeth, Mrs. Sager, living in Pennsylvania, and Catherine, Mrs. Bainter, living in California. Jesse was married to Miss Adelia Adeline Sager at Lewistown, Pa., October 11, 1965. After one year of residence in their native state, they decided to come west, settling for a short time in Illinois and again in Iowa, finally coming out as far as Fillmore County, where they homesteaded four miles west of what is now known as the town of Geneva. Here they continued to live until they retired and moved to town fifteen years ago. Twelve children were born to this union, two of whom died in infancy. The ten surviving children are: Mrs. Anna Dowis, Arcadia; Charles, Lincoln; Mrs. Maggie Marr, Battle Creek; Jerome, Arcadia; Jess, Battle Creek; Cyrus, living on the original homestead near Geneva; Mrs. Maud McPeck, Geneva; Mrs. Blanche Merryman, Martland; Russell, who makes his home with the parents; Frank of Lincoln. All are of Nebraska, and all were able to attend the funeral. Mr. Walker died after a prolonged and painful illness, patiently borne. The end came very peacefully Monday morning at 8:45, he having reached the ripe age of 82 years, 3 months and 18 days. He leaves to mourn his departure besides those named above, his widow, twenty-seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Congregational Church and was conducted by the pastor, Rev. David Tudor, assisted by a quartet of singers. His body was laid to rest in the Geneva Cemetery.
