On Wednesday, June 29, 1910, at the home of the bride' mother, Mrs. Frances Peteres, occurred the marriage of her daughter, Jessie Frances, to Walter W. Simmons. Elaborate preparations had been made for the happy event. The dining room tables were festooned and arranged in excellent taste, also provided with a number of toothsome viands. A bridal bower' tastefully garlanded, was placed in the parlor, so adjusted as to give all a view of the participants. The guests consisted of relative of the contracting families and special friends of the bride and groom. Those came in buggies and autos until the spacious lawn and hospitable home were well filled. Miss Elsie Peters presided at the piano and promptly at 7pm the bridal couple, preceded by two flower girls took their places. Rev R.A. Harwood of Quimby, officiated, using by request a brief form of ring ceremony, in which the responses were prompty and distinctly given. The nuptual vows were witnessed by a large company, who offered heartiest congratulations, and also did ample justice to the sumptuous wedding repast which was promptly served. The wedding gifts were numerous, costly and highly serviceable and bespeak the high esteem felt for both bride and groom by every guest. With a commendable absence of anything rude or boisterous, merriment and good cheer predominated, everybody being most hospitably and courteously treated. Even those who came for charavari purposes were given an introduction to the bride and groom and a treat of cigars and fruits. Both bride and groom were neatly and tastefully attired, the bride carrying a bouquet of roses. They were fine speciments of noble youth united hearts and fortunes for life's destinies. Both are of excellent families and easily hold front rank among the choice young people of the Good Hope community. They have the sincere congratulations not only of each wedding guests, but the very best wishes also, of these and many other friends. Mr. and Mrs. Simmons will begin housekeeping at once in a home already prepared for immediate occupancy. Theirs will be a Christian home and high hopes are held for them of a happy useful and highly honorable future.
