Description	:	Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Emerson Wednesday with the Rev. Earl Kelly in charge. Burial was in the Emerson cemetery with the Sellergren Funeral Home of Red Oak in charge. The following life sketch was given: Jessie, daughter of William and Emma Jones, was born June 1, 1893 in Kansas. The following life sketch was given: Jessie, daughter of William and Emma Jones, was born June 1, 1893 in Kansas. When she was 8 years old, the family moved to the Glenwood vicinity, where she attended country school and graduated in 1915 from Glenwood high school. She also attended Cedar Falls College and taught in Creston and in Mills County rural schools for several years. On March 14, 1918 she was married to Edwin Grayson, son of Thomas and Margaret Grayson. Edwin served in the U.S. Army and died on Feb. 5, 1919. To this union, a son Edwin H. Grayson, was born. For several years she made her home with the Grayson family, then established a home in Emerson. On June 16, 1936, she was married to Ernest Cole of Emerson, and lived on a farm south of town. She was a member of the Methodist Church, the WSCS, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Emerson Woman's Club. She took an active part in each. She was President of the Cemetery association for several years. She loved her home and worked hard to make it a pleasant home. She had many hobbies: flowers, arts and crafts, and collecting antiques. Jessie passed away Oct. 22, at Murphy Memorial Hospital, after an illness of eleven months in hospitalsand nursing homes. She is survived by her husband, Ernest; son, Edwin Grayson; two step daughters, Irene, Mrs. Dale Mills of Earlham; Ruby, Mrs. Phillip Williams, Manhattan Beach, Calif.; two brothers, Wesley Jones, Cambridge, la., and Ward Jones, Portland, Ore.; four sisters, Mrs. George Phelps, Glenwood; Mrs. Leonard Tatro, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Ralph Greenlee, Oakland, Calif., and Mrs. Fred Lindner, Atascedora, Calif.; seven step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her first husband, Edwin and three sisters. She lived most of her life in and around Emerson, and will be ' greatly missed by her many friends Malvern Leader, Thursday, October 26, 1967
