Detwiler, (formerly of Rogers, Ohio) died on Friday, March 27 at Beeghly Oaks in Boardman. Jessie was born on Easter Sunday, April 9, 1911 in Clarington, Ohio (Monroe County). She was the daughter of Albert and Charlottie Bauer. Jessie was a maid/caretaker for 17 years for Dr. Robert Reed, Jr. of Wheeling, WV. She spent her married life living and working on a farm near Rogers with her husband, Franklin and children. She was a member of the Lake Mount Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Elmer and Wesley; and three sisters, Frieda, Lula, and Geneva. Surviving are one sister, Oma Freeman of St. Clairesville, OH; two sons, Glen (Dottie) Detwiler of Beaver, PA and Alan Detwiler of Rogers, OH; two daughters Charlotte (Joe) Dercoli of Boardman, OH and Diana Morris of Rogers, OH; four grandchildren, Jim (Gwen) Detwiler of Freedonia, NY, Jodi (Andy) Brinson of Roanoke, TX, Corbin (Nashawn Smith) Detwiler of Rogers, OH and Landry (John) Channels of Austintown, OH and five great-grandchildren: Jacob, Katelyn, Bryar, Collin, and Blake. Jessie worked to improve the lives of the people around her. The family would like to thank all the staff at Beeghly Oaks Nursing Home who helped take care of their Mother for the past five years. Calling hours will be held 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana. There will be a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana with Jason Pancake, evangelist from the Lake Mount Church of Christ officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
