She lived almost all her years in the Lynn Rock section. She was a daughter of the late Christian Simmons and Sally Biby Simmons. She had been a member of the Methodist church for a number of years. She lived almost all her years in the Lynn Rock section. She was a daughter of the late Christian Simmons and Sally Biby Simmons. She had been a member of the Methodist church for a number of years. Mrs Armstrong is survived by two sons Denver at home and Joe of Pennsylvania; four brothers G. Robert of Lynn Rock, Greeley of Augusta County, Sam of Lexington, Illinois and William of Delaware: three sisters Mrs Walter Brown of Arbovale, W.Va.; Mrs H.P. Sharp of Wilmington, Del. and Mrs Lucy Davis of Norfolk. Also surviving are ten grandchildren. An account of the funeral will be in the next issue of the Recorder. Highland Recorder April 24, 1942 Funeral of Mrs. Jessie Armstrong The funeral of Mrs. Jessie M. Armstrong was held from the home Thursday at 2 o’clock. The services were conducted by Rev. E.L. Hylton assisted by Rev. Carl Zigler. Hymns used were: “Alas and Did My Savior Bleed", “My Faith Looks up to Thee", and “Rock of Ages”. Pallbearers were Glen Botkin, Roy Botkin, Lester Botkin, Paul Botkin, William Varner, Jr., Earl Smith. The flower girls were Ogretta McCray, Corine Armstrong, Pauline Simmons, Leona Simmons, Thelma Armstrong, Audry Armstrong, Mrs. Helen Kincaid and Mrs. Raymond Simmons. Burial was in the family cemetery.
