Description	:	Wayne Garrett, 73, of Bloomfield, died Oct. 17, 2011, at his home. He was born Feb. 17, 1938, in Milton to Arthur Samuel and Jessie Lucille Kittle Garrett. He married Darlene Brown Jan. 8, 1956, in Davis County. He was a heavy equipment operator and in 1970 he founded Bloomfield Bridge and Culvert, where he continued to operate heavy equipment. He was a member of the Milton Christian Church, affiliated with the Mark Baptist Church and was a member of the Associated General Contractors of Iowa. He was born Feb. 17, 1938, in Milton to Arthur Samuel and Jessie Lucille Kittle Garrett. He married Darlene Brown Jan. 8, 1956, in Davis County. He was a heavy equipment operator and in 1970 he founded Bloomfield Bridge and Culvert, where he continued to operate heavy equipment. He was a member of the Milton Christian Church, affiliated with the Mark Baptist Church and was a member of the Associated General Contractors of Iowa. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Debbie(Bryan)Gravett of Bloomfield; three sons, Donald(Shirley)Garrett, Doug(Julie)Garrett and Darin Garrett, all of Bloomfield; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, William"Bud"Garrett of Memphis, Mo., and Albert Garrett of Bloomfield; a sister, Peggy Shepherd of Bloomfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, N.C."Tiny"Garrett and Larry Garrett. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Saturday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield; Pastor Gary Axtell officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin after 4 pm Friday with the family present to greet friends from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to the Mark Baptist Church and Hospice of Wapello and Davis County.
