Description	:	Jimmie Moye Dixon, 77, died Thursday April 21, 2016 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2:30 PM at Homestead Memorial Gardens. Jimmie, born Sept 6, 1938 to Zeno M. and Louise Boyd Dixon in the Black Jack community of Pitt County, lived his childhood and teenage years there. Read More	Jimmie Moye Dixon, 77, died Thursday April 21, 2016 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2:30 PM at Homestead Memorial Gardens. Jimmie, born Sept 6, 1938 to Zeno M. and Louise Boyd Dixon in the Black Jack community of Pitt County, lived his childhood and teenage years there. He attended Chicod High School and went on to graduate from Durham School of Barbering. Jimmie barbered in Charlotte for four years before moving back to Greenville to work at the El Toro and Plaza Barber Shops. Jimmie used his talent for painting to start his own commercial painting business. Later Jimmie returned to barbering until he became disabled. Jimmie was a member of Black Jack Free Will Baptist Church where he loved to listen to gospel music. He also had a love for horses and developed lasting friendships with people in the area who were horse lovers as well. Jimmie was preceded in death by his father, Zeno M. Dixon; and a half sister, Janet D. Buie. In addition to being survived by his mother, Louise; Jimmie is survived by his wife of 57 years Brenda Elkin Dixon; sons, Jimmy Dixon, Jr. and wife, Terry, of Columbia, SC, and Scott Dixon and wife, Fay, of Oak Island; grandchildren, Lauren Dixon of Raleigh, London Dixon of Dover, DE, Jack Dixon of Columbia, SC, Kristin Dixon of Greenville, and Colt Dixon, Michaela Dixon, and McKenzie Dixon, all of Chocowinity; great-grandchildren, Addison and Damian; sisters, Mona Sue D. Galbreath, Brenda D. Adams and husband, Talmadge; brothers, Jack V. Dixon and wife, Nancy, George R. “Randy” Dixon and wife, Vicki, and Louie Dixon and wife, Suzanne; step-brothers, Bobby Joe Dixon and wife, Della, E. Wayne Dixon and wife, Linda; step-sister-in-law, Joyce Dixon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
