Born on April 19, 1939 in Grasonville, MD, she was the daughter of the late, Robert and Eva Jewell Bambary. Jo Anne grew up in Grasonville and attended Stevensville High School. Read More	Jo Anne Collier of Queenstown, Maryland died Friday, April 30, 2010 at her daughter’s house surrounded by her loving family. She was 71 years old. Born on April 19, 1939 in Grasonville, MD, she was the daughter of the late, Robert and Eva Jewell Bambary. Jo Anne grew up in Grasonville and attended Stevensville High School. She married her high School sweetheart, William L. “Butch” Collier on April 22, 1956. They resided in Queenstown as Jo Anne was a homemaker. When the children were old enough she began working for W.E. Denny & Sons as a bookkeeper and for the past 17 years as an assistant with her daughters day care in Stevensville. Jo Anne was an avid collector of dolls, collecting Holiday Barbie’s and Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Queenstown, MD. She is survived by her husband of 54 years William Lewis “Butch” Collier of Queenstown, MD; two daughters, Lu Anne Smith and her husband, Craig of Stevensville, MD and Janet Lynn Diefenderfer of Trappe, MD; a son, Lewis M. Collier and Shawn McLaughlin of Oxford, MD; two brothers, Jack Bambary of Easton, PA and James Bambary of Phoenix, AZ; 5 grandchildren, Stephanie Gardner (Tommy), Mandy Insley (David, Lewis Collier, Andy Collier (Brittany) & R.D. Diefenderfer and Ashleigh and 6 great grandchildren, Chelsea Smith, Cassidy Smith, T.J. Gardner, Spencer Insley, Logan Insley & Paige Insley. Two sisters, Marion Collier, Shirley Shores, a brother, Bobby Bambary and her son in law, R.D. Diefenderfer all predeceased her. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 3, 2010 11:00 AM at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. at 106 Shamrock Road Chester, MD 21619 where family and friends may visit on Sunday, May 2, 2010 from 4 PM to 6 PM. Interment will follow the service in Stevensville Cemetery in Stevensville, MD.
