She was born on August 28, 1956, in Macon, Missouri, the daughter of Allen Christman and Ferne Louise (Reynolds) Watson. Read More	Joan Andrews ( August 28, 1956 - April 30, 2012 ) Joan Delea Andrews, age 55, of Eagle Rock, Missouri, passed away on April 30, 2012, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born on August 28, 1956, in Macon, Missouri, the daughter of Allen Christman and Ferne Louise (Reynolds) Watson. She graduated from South Shelby High School in 1974 and enlisted in the United States Air Force. In her military career she was stationed and served in several locations including: Rantoul, Illinois; England; Boston, Massachusetts; Spokane, Washington; Shemya in the Aleutian Islands and Fairbanks, Alaska. She served her country for over 20 years with distinction and retired with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Joan and Bill Andrews were blessed with one child, Casey Marie Andrews. She loved her years of being a mother and chauffeuring her daughter to her many band and speech debate tournaments across the state, as well as numerous ministry events throughout the country. She was the City Clerk in Seligman for many years and was recognized as the Woman of the Year from the city in 2010. Joan was a United Methodist throughout her life. In retirement she was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Cassville. She served in mission and as a youth leader. At the Maratane United Methodist churches in Mozambique, Africa she was known as "Big Mama." Sustainability projects of water wells, chickens, housing and education were supported within the refugee camp due to Joan's tireless efforts. She was in regular communication with the congregation in Maratane. She has a namesake Joan Andrews Fataki, born in 2011. Survivors include her mother, Ferne Watson, of Eagle Rock, Missouri; daughters, Casey Andrews, of Cassville, Missouri, and Amber Hylton and Jeremy Nuttle, of Republic, Missouri; brother, James Allen Watson, of Clarence, Missouri; sister, Betty Sue Watson and Jo Ann McMahon, of Arnold, Missouri; nephew, Alexander Watson and Holly, of Rothville, Missouri; niece, Angela Watson, of Dallas, Texas; and grandchildren, Phoebe and Rhilynn Hylton-Nuttle. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Robert Watson. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Cassville, Missouri. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Cassville, Missouri. (Contributor: Pam Witherow)
