She died Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at her residence. ——— Joan Zurcher was born July 15, 1932, in Tilden, to Fred and Mabel Lang. Joan graduated from Tilden High School in 1949. She married Charles Zurcher on Nov. 12, 1950, at the Methodist Church in Tilden. Joan and her spouse farmed south of Tilden for 10 years until moving northeast of Meadow Grove, where they farmed until retiring to Tilden in 1992. Joan was an active member of her church. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and traveling, especially to Texas during the winter months, where she enjoyed various crafts and being with friends. Most of all, Joan loved being a spouse, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her spouse, Charles; her daughters, Angela Simmons, Pamela (Jan) Robertson and Lori (Michael) Herbolsheimer; a daughter-in-law, Lynn Zurcher; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a brother, Fritz (Diane) Lang; her brothers-in-law, Bob Miller, Tom Osborn and Dean (Charlotte) Zurcher; and a sister-in-law, Joan Staub. Joan was preceded in death by her son, Ronn Zurcher; a son-in-law, Sam Simmons; her sisters, Ruth Osborn and Myrna Miller; her sister-in-law, Jeannie Evans; and her brothers-in-law, Bill Evans and Marion Staub.
